Dog days are Over

This band has to be one of my great finds of the year, the leads voice is so intensely piercing and moving. This song is the perfect pick me up for those moments when life is a tad heavy, the vocals are honest and true, while the delivery forces you to get up and shed the doom and gloom. Check out Florence and the Machine, you wont regret it.

Pursuit of Happiness

I'm really excited to be blogging about this collaboration, because it's probably the best thing i've heard all year in terms of mainstream music. Kid Cudi , Ratatat (On Production) and MGMT, oh my soul. This track works so well due to Cudi's crossover appeal, i think he's an indie rapper instead of just plain rapper, his vocals are hypnotising and captivating while the chorus draws you in unsuspectingly. Wait for the guitar solo and be amazed. Enjoy this cause I'll be jamming it for years to come.. I've included the video so you see how awesome the guitarist looks while doing his thing.

I Want You //////

The last time i heard anything mad sick from Azzido da Bass was during the days of the Crookers craze. Well it seems they're hiatus was warranted as they have returned full force with a new banger. This little number is a tad ravey but doesn't get annoyingly hard, its bouncy rave! Give it a listen..

Just a little Bit

I'm quite used to being proven wrong these days, so once again it came as no surprise when i found myself jamming out to Boy 8 Bit's remix of Florence and the Machines - Drumming noise. Wow the restraint is so apparent as he chooses rather to create simple minimalistic techno beats that make this a track worth having in any music lovers collection. Thanks to this remix i discovered the amazing Florence and the Machine, so good call all round. Enjoy

Stars Come Out

Well I'm sure you were all excited as i was to hear of Calvin Harris' new offering, Ready for the weekend. While i still believe that I created disco is better, i must say his production skills have been refined and no where is it more apparent than in my favourite track off the album, Stars Come Out. It's the perfect mix of easy catchy vocals and happy disco beats, that make you wanna dance till the sun comes out. Get it and judge for yourself

This baby's been on my ipod for a while and i recently realised that i hadnt posted it yet. Basically its got the freshest vocals, maddest drums and will make you dance like you're a crazy tribesman. Pump it heavy on your sound system, i made the mistake of jamming it on my ipod, im going deaf, i think. anyway Enjoy this Downtown remix

Introducing... Mini K

It's been a while since we featured a local kid on the rise here, well this young lad, at only 19 is a force to be reckoned with, i saw him play at the Hijack event at Roxy's a while back and he made a huuge impression. He's producing talent is insane!! and he's a modest friendly dj, what more can you ask for. I've got two of his tracks for you, but please head to his myspace page (www.myspace.com/miniksmusic) to listen to Jack off Jill, which hasn't been made available for download, you'll pop a nerve. Embrace... Mini K

Mind the Gap

Well, i'm back from london and i must say, what an experience that was. Get loaded in the park was insane with awesome performances from: Bookashade, Crookers, Miike Snow, Royksopp and Steve Aoki. I even stumbled as i tried to talk to Phra of the crookers and ended up a star-struck groupie. I aslo got the opportunity to jam out at the Legendary club, FABRIC, oh my holy soul dust, what an awesome experience, probably the best club i've ever been to. Room 1 has speakers beneath the floor, insane!!! Anyway, gotta give major big-ups to a Dj who completely mind-fucked me the whole night with his dark, dirty, minimal-tech beats... JAMIE JONES... what a dj..

Last but surely not least big thank you to my mate DJ REEZO, for taking the time to show me around and jam too. This weekend he arrives in SA for a short tour, details will follow soon.
