Bruce Willis Is Dead

No he's not, but its a catchy name for a track hey? anyway, this remix, is by far the best i've heard. Get this wonk fidgety banger now and dont feel bad for thinking, Bruce Willis Is Dead. This is originally by Mr Ozio, remixed nicely by Scott Harris...

Bleeding Beet

Hold on, im just spazzing out to this track, be with you juuuuust now. Im not a big rave fan, but my word, diggin this, Bloody Freaken Beetroots featuring Steve Aoki. Madness i tell you.

Fly the Flag

Ah, always feels good to punt local talent, I've seen these lads play before at a Looney Tunes event, and while their style didnt immediately grab me, im forced to give them another chance after listening to this sickness. Its a very finished polished, well produced track. Pascal & Pearce, take it away.......... it'll get you into a trance ha ha

This is SPARTA!!!

JEEZ! mother of a cow, havent been this excited about a tune in ages, its like happy clappy tech. Dont be fooled its got somany elements, wow! OK im trying to calm down, so many different elements ha ha. Just get it, well done to Dada Life, for rocking my socks

Happy_Hands_Happy_Feet.mp3

Ok i take it back

I'm not a big fan of Justin Timberlake or Ciara, but well after seeing the video for their collab effort last night, i gotta say i was kinda impressed. Its an ok song, this remix however does it for me, so judge for yourselves.... I'm always sceptical ok Chew Fu remixes cause theres one every two minutes but this one is pretty decent

About time

I'm sure you all remember Body Language by M.A.N.D.Y/Bookashade, well i hadnt really been impressed too much by anything since, so you can imagine my suprise when i got this tune, what a track. Listen to it over and over, Amazing! so chilled and yet so dark and dirty, aaaaah

Sucking Gas

This weekend i realised that I'm getting real old, i couldn't dance for too long without sucking gas or getting a glass of water. But all that physical abuse was worth it, cause when i heard this track it made my night. I'm a big big fan of Hijack, he's the sh*t, listen to this, its just a preview but don't stress, its about three and a half minutes of listening pleasure.. and Oliver $ oh my word legend

HiJack - Keep It Real Oliver $ Remix Preview.mp3

Pull up the people

I cant get this tune outta my mind, i don't know what it is about M.I.A that so fresh and appealing, but I'm hooked. Her voice and her rhymes are on form once again in this little number, its catchy. I rate her and Santogold, representing you ladies out there big time.

Farewell

If you peeps appreciate the musical genius that is Kyle Watson, i suggest you make your way to Sugar this sunday, as it will be his last set in Jhb. Besides the line up is mad sick!! wow i honestly cant wait for this. oh ya the Bulgarian will be there too, sweeet!

Beautiful Day Without You

Now here's a post that takes me way back to when i fell in love with all things house. I recently discovered the original track and it just made me fall in love with the remix again. Royksopp needs no introduction as they are well respected producers. In honour of their new album, here's two sick tracks

Royksopp_Beautiful_Day_Without_You.mp3

Lazy

Since i'm on holiday for a week i've decided to post some chilled tracks that'll make you relax even if you're not on holiday, ha ha. The Jazzanova track is pure bliss, and will definitely make you smile, while the Adele remix, is so refreshing with its rasta influences. pretty awesome stuff. enjoy your weekend

Redeemed, for now

So I've finally decided to give Chris Lake another chance after i over-dosed on changes. This track is grittier while still maintaining that Chris Lake electro sound, the vocals made the track for me, so try it out

NASA

Well i'm feeling guilty because i've got quite a few friends who listen to hiphop, and there's not much of that on JohnnyFidget. So i finally found something that blew me away, and of course it happened to feature Kanye and SantoGold! so here it is, enjoy it

hmmmm

While in cyber space last night i discovered this little tune, by a relatively unknown artist, Lorcan Mak. It's nothing extra-ordinary but its amazing to see a different set of producers stepping up to the fidget plate. Give it a listen, the only problem, its too short, sad face, ha ha

Alabama Blues

I've been meaning to post this for a while now. This guy is amazing, his style is so unique and mind blowing that you cant help but be immersed in his music. These remixes arent the best quality but believe me after you've listened to them it wont matter. Deep House has never been done so well. Enjoy Todd 'the god' Edwards

Hey there..

If you haven't you heard of Mightyfools, They are the Dutch duo of Andy Samin and Jelle Keizer take ’90s rave influences and transform them with jacked up beats, bleeps and basslines. Their sound is fresh and bouncy. This tune is a perfect example of their unique style. check it out

Snap.Crackle.Pop

I discovered a new or relatively new remix from an old favourite producer of mine, Wongo. I think he's mastered the art of simplicity. Its a very simple but exciting tune, minimal tweeking with maximum output i rate. give it a listen

It's been a while

Hello strangers, a thousand apologies for my absence of late, varsity has been hectic and required my attention, well i'm back and i thought i'd post some minimal, it's been a while since i posted any. so enjoy these tracks, quite sick.. From Sounds from Can Elles, compiled by Richie Hawtin and Futureaudio Presents Minimal Techno Vol. 2. Its pretty sick minimal tech!

e=mc2

I have immense respect for producers who can transform many random elements and turn them into something mind altering! Jack Beats and Foamo, are relative new comers who have made my clubbing experience even better lately. Here's a track that will take a listen or two to understand but after that i suggest you stop thinking and just feel. Its fidgety-wonk, but not that cheap plastic type.

Get Stupid

There's a new StupidFresh remix floating around, it cuts short after 2:40 but just give it a listen. This post is just an excuse to put up the Nick Supply remix of StupidFresh's 5.5, which is old but still banging. Enjoy the weekend and Get Stupid!

Shut up and get dressed

New Blog Alert!!!

My good friend, Linda, who is also a mega style expert has decided to share some of her knowledge and opinions with the rest of the world by starting her own blog. I've got a feeling its gonna be huge so go check it out and support her!

We are the people!

It always warms my heart when i see two forces combine to create something beautiful. In this case it's indie kings - Empire of the Sun and french disco genius - Shazam. This remix is mad decent, anytime you wanna feel happy play this. Also included is another Shazam remix that is smile a minute tune.

Gin & Juice

This is an interesting combination of cheeky, populist-is-shit duo The Young Punx with, king of all things "house" and "dirty" Riva Starr. Get it now! Try not to spaz out too hard, cause this is a quality tune, with clever vocals and a fresh sound. oh and as an extra, i put Mr Starrs last remix which rocks my socks..

Is This Fidget?

I found a short but interesting musical commentary by fidget maestro Brabe, its a whole journey through what fidget is all about in 4minutes, quite a nice mash up..

Kerri Chandler

Its impressive to see how many big name Dj's and producers have made their way to little old SA this past year: from Guetta to Dubfire, Beetroots to Mowgli (28th March). Saturday is no different, legendary house Dj, Kerri Chandler will be playing at Nasrec. Its an urban wave party so you gotta register first, and today cause its probably the last day. He's playing alongside: Muscle, Mlu and Vinny Da Vinci. Now go register, before you miss out. Viva Deep House

Mega Sega

This one's gonna make you all miss your sega consoles. Even though the Mario themesong has been sampled before, i prefer this mix, a little bit of hip hop and electro. It works well. It's by Nick Thayer, remixed by Too Short.

Cool Kid

You'll have to leave

No party lasts forever, eventually the music gets slower, the volume decreases and all of a sudden the lights come on. It doesn't have to be that brutal, the slower deeper tunes are the perfect way to top off a sick night. If you have the money and the time go buy these two albums: Deeper Sounds of Coco Loco - Deep Trouble and Fly By Night. Amazing deep tracks. Anyway here are a few that I'm loving at the moment. oh and go watch, Watchmen.

Upstairs @ Truth

About four years ago, i met a hectic golf enthusiast, who later became a good mate. Little did i know that this chap, would be so inspired by the many nights out at either Truth or Natural Groove, that he'd trade golf clubs for vinyls. Well in the time since our first meeting, Mr Andi Dill, has established himself as a talented dj, with a keen ear for dirty-gutter-minimal, holding a residency at the Minimal floor @ Truth. Thanks to facebook, i got my hands on a set he played on the 28/02/2009, which was pretty sick.. its only up for a week, so get to it, download now!

https://rcpt.yousendit.com/663572969/a165c2e3ee47e0382895039533a0e4f1

Powerpop / Electro / Techno

I have to admit that it always takes sometime for me to try out artists/ producers that i don't know. However i am glad that i decided to download this next track. It's powerful electro that'll make you wanna jam, although it gets a bit tired and boring after the second break. Still worth a listen. So look out for Aniki from Norway.

Selfish..

I've been selfishly sitting on this tune for quite some time now, maybe because i didn't want to hear it being overplayed. Well since i lost my ipod on Friday, I've decided that maybe Karma might be real. Enjoy this mad tune, its a remix by Brabe, who never disappoints. This is a very chunky but aggressive electro-fidgety tune, mad sick!

What_Do_You_Do_If_You_Dont

What Do You Do If You Dont, is the latest offering from a legend of the game, Jesse Rose. There is no one word or genre to describe this album, which is great because while it has some old time favourites, it also exposes you to a newer more polished sound. In my eyes he can do no wrong, but hey you'll have to decide for yourself. check out these two tracks from the album.

Twelve

This next banger is the brain-child of a fellow blogger, whose blog i really like. Well i guess listening to so much good music has impacted positively on this dude, cause in my opinion, this tune is mad decent, i rate its very minimal-tech sounding, but its confusingly-hypnotising, just go with it... check out: Plimsouls

Chubby Fingers

Here's the first of a two part series featuring the sick champs: Chubby Fingers. I hope this duo keeps sending material this way. The set is chock-a-block with producers i really rate. Give it a spin on your way to the club, if the vodka and cream soda fails to get you in the mood, this definitely will. booom!

Introducing.... Mob Mafia

Hello Boy's and Girls, it's my absolute pleasure to introduce you guys to this up and coming producer/ dj duo. With music pumping through their veins, these two lads: Funky_Froot & Gareth V founded Panatone Records with the hope of touching people in a new way & giving a part of themselves to the industry which had shaped their lives. The duo now known as the Mob Mafia has various projects in production & promises to be a major player in time to come.

This latest demo is an illustration of their Progressive House side. Though Electro & Fidget are the usual weapons of choice, Funky_Froot has never been a one track pony, possessing floor fillers through the entire spectrum of House from Deep & Soulful to Commercial & Funky, playing alongside: DJ Kent, DJ Euphonik & Royal K to name a few and rocked floors at Kudeta, MalaBar, EscoBar, Fuel Cafe, Black Orchid & various clubs in Melville.

enjoy this!

Total French Domination

its the day of the french here on JohnnyFidget. here's another funky house banger, grooving deep bass, perfect for the end of the day. i hope to see more of: Bobby and Klein, sick lads

Young Folks

i've gotta give massive props to french dj's and producers, cause at the moment they are dominating in my opinion. here's another mad duo: The Youngsters, that's been around for a while. this particular track is techy filth for a sunday afternoon, if that makes any sense. its nice.. try it

stack 'em up

well it seems im in love with disco-house, as if you hadn't noticed. well i cant help it. even though this is labelled as disco-house i can easily imagine this being dropped on the truth main floor. its got a wide appeal, pretty sick. check it out. its by a chap called , Joey Youngman.

Disco-Ballistic!

well guys heres another reason to hate australia, they produce some hectic talent, wow this is actually insane. i've been jamming this track all weekend and i'm not over it. for young producers this is some very mature work. I'm talking about Jimmy2sox! i've got a remix they did, of Empire of the Suns - We are the people, its jazzanovicly insane. the saxophone rocks my socks. check it out.

and a few other Bangers

Exclusiv!

its always awesome-istic! when i get my hands on a brand-spanking-fresh tune, here's the first of many JohnnyFidget exclusives peeps. this one comes from a regular on this blog: Reeso. its got the heart and soul of Chicago, mashed up with some classic londontown vocals. hard to believe that the original is a minimal banger. enjoy this jazzy funk! Massiv!
