Disco Espionage

Deep house has always had the effect of making me feel like I'm living in a permanent Sunday, because while it brings complete euphoric peace, there's always this feeling that you cant remain in that space forever. This track is the soundtrack to the permanent summer session that is my mind. Steve Bug delivers an absolute masterpiece with this deep-techy number. Check It

Steve Bug - My Sweet Vital Angel

Chin Shaker No More

My good friend Reezo often recommends new tracks, and he's always spot on with my musical tastes, however when I first got this particular track, I didn't warm to it right away. after two more listens, I fell deeply in love with it. firstly the vocals are so catch you find yourself repeating them to yourself, then there's this disco-beat feel about the track that is utterly devastating! If Phat Jack were to release another from Capetown with love compilation I have a feeling this would fit right in there!

Miles Maeda - Addicted Me With Love

Dance Forever

The best way to tell if someone really likes a particular track, is to look at their faces when it drops. If its sincere, inhibitions fall away and a look of utter inner joyous devastation comes over their faces and they are then lost to all outer interaction for some time. This is how I felt when I heard this, there was no pretending, just shut eyes and ryhtmic release. Davidson Ospina makes the kind of house that makes you happy and carefree, even for a moment

Simon Deporres

Last week I got to meet one of the team @Simon Deporres, a refreshing new label born and bred in South Africa, Cpt. Its really classic clothing that doesnt try hard to be cool. In the sea of shiny swag, that is 'in style' today, I suggest you give the website a look for the definition of timeless. Stockists Include: Astore and The Old Biscuit Mill, both in Cpt.

Fidgets Torch Bearer

While in the thick of exams I got an awesome gift in my facebook inbox from a chap by the name of Sean Taylor, what a goodie! As you might have noticed, despite the blogs namesake, there hasn't been much fidget on this here blog, because it all started to sound the same. This man's production skills have managed to convince me that there is still some hope for the genre. He utilises very catchy almost classic vocal samples, while delivering grotesquely bouncy beats that force you to dust off that old two step. I'm quite excited to see more from this talented lad.

Inter_Stellar Zulu

A few days ago, a close friend and I were talking about the good old days of Natural Groove (one of the most epic South African clubs). One thing that stood out in my memories was arriving and immediately wanting to jam, because the residents had a way of setting the most relaxed vibe. This track is one of those mood setting tracks that immediately sounds like you've heard it before. Its deep, its soulful while being upbeat. Try it on

Bodie Marlo

Tracks like Bodie Marlo work for me because they actually have the effect of making you forget about your surroundings and completely engulfing you in a hypnosis effected by alien repetitive sounds. I'm in love with this track, there's nothing particularly earth shattering about its originality but the emotion carried through is amazing. Chopstick & Till Von Sein are your pilots, don't bother fastening your seat belts because there's no way you're gonna get up.

Beautiful Surrender

I finally heard this song out at the Monica Kruse event, which was beyond epic. The best part was that, even though i listen to this track on the regular, I was suprised at the beautiful calm surrender it brought as i floated away on its deep beats and simple vocals. If you look in the dictionary for what house is, you'll probably find this song title there too. Maya Jane Coles has managed to produce a whole EP with the sound that originally defined house.
