Problem with Links

Not too sure whats happening with the server i'm using but some of the links seem to be down. Please be patient, i'm hoping zshare will sort it out quickly, otherwise i'll upload the tracks on another server over the weekend.

Update:
I've loaded the tracks that weren't working to another server, now you can also listen to the track. For the time being i'll be using this server till i get something more stable. Click on the DivShare writing to download. Peace

Up for something new?

Well in my pursuit to be all inclusive (cause Johnny doesn't discriminate), i've been checking out different sounds. I'm glad i decided to explore, cause i found this amazing Nu-Jazz group called, Free the Robots, its pretty chillout, try it out.

Free The Robots - Diary

You Decide

Jackinori vs The Bulgarian, can't think of a better duel of the Don's. Well I've got remixes by two of these Masters, both good although I'm leaning slightly in favour of Jackinori's (not just cause he's in the country, ha ha). This is what fidget/electro is all about, the Bulgarian puts a filthy electro spin on the tune, while Jackinori provides a danceable fidgety bouncy tune. I need more stuff like this, the original is quite sick too, good on ya Calvertron

Believe..

There are a few big name producers whose reputations speak for themselves, so when i saw this new Dennis Ferrer mix, there was no hesitation. It truely does justice to the original Dido track, and its deep tech sound is beyond phat. The vocals are intense, mad sick! Its almost haunting

This is Awkward

Well now these past two months have been insane! after the blog make-over i got intense into blogging but alas my studies have been getting the cold shoulder. I don't mean to burden you with my troubles ha ha, but my law degree needs some level of effort so for about a month and a half i wont blog as much. This is good though cause then its more quality instead of quantity, right? i knew you'd see it my way. After the exams, it'll be business as usual, thanks for your patience and support. Peace

Gin & Tonic

That's exactly what this next indie instant-classic, makes me think of, Gin & Tonic. It's so dry especially the vocals but its on another level of genius. The drums are hypnotic, then the vocals draw you in, then the chorus has you on the street preaching the gospel of indie. Wave Machine's other tracks aren't as good but thank sweet Jesus for this one.

Wave Machines - Keep the Lights On

Why are all the Vocals turned down so low

After the audio assault i experienced at the circus this past weekend, its only fair, i share some of the sounds i experienced. This next producer is relatively new, but his material is gonna change the way you view house forever. Sub-genre's aren't important, there is however one important requirement, that a track move you in the depths of your soul, Noob does that effortlessly. This chap is on fire, listen to this minimal-tech and then you can convert all your friends.

Noob - Petit Totocar

Popof - Serenity (Noob Remix)

Have you Ever!

This past weekend has left me with a new appreciation for all things house no matter what genre. I have no idea why i like this next track, but alas its on repeat as i type this, the sound is wonky tech. Very new to me, but i'm going to listen to this until i get bored of it. It's light but can still be taken seriously, mad! With a name like Falko Brocksieper who wouldnt take you seriously?

Falko Brocksieper - Lament _Original

Weekend Review

First up this week ladies and gentlemen is a review of my weekend. Pretty random, yes, but necessary. Credit must be given to the organisers of Electric Circus at Truth. It was insane!!! Jackinori's set was so solid and he's actually a pleasant fella, short but packing a solid punch on the decks. Another big surprise was Nick Supply's Intense-Mad-Sick set, wow! He told me that he's trying out a new Trancey sounding vibe which is right on the money. The minimal floor was another highlight, Nic Lumb and Jimmy Chronic were on supreme form, with the darkest beats ever. I'm also beginning to think that Jon S is incapable of doing anything bad, mad mad set! All together a solid night, well done Truth

Kinky Fidget

I'm done presenting the case for South African producers, because their work speaks for itself. The Bulgarian has been on repeat on my Ipod (which i found where i'd passed out two weeks before), although this is a KINK remix, im giving all the credit to the bulgarian ha ha. Its Kinky Fidget folks, this is for all the truth hipsters who do that running man jam. Peace

Deadbeat!

Aaaaah! yeah this track is that good. It's been a while since an indie track moved me so much. The best description I've read about this track is: It sounds like an MGMT song that's been left in the sun for too long. It'll transport you to a different place and time, made up of marshmallows and guitars. It's Just A Deadbeat Summer by Neon Indian

Neon Indian - Deadbeat Summer

ThrowBack

Now here's a natural groove throwback. Even though its fairly new it has the feel of the sounds i associate the original natural groove with. Well that's a by-gone era, but we still got producers like HeavyFeet to keep the flame alive with a modern spin. Its slighty commercial sounding, but just enjoy it for what it is, a mad decent track

HeavyFeet- Drop The Beat _Original Mix

Paranoid

Jeez this is a disco banger! Apparently its actually nu-disco, i dont give a sh*t what its called. All i know is that this track makes me happy inside. Better yet its a Kanye West remix, so really what are you waiting for. Its so old school but new school, ha ha. Definitely a worthy addition to any collection, keep an eye out for Scuola furano

Kanye West - Paranoid (Scuola furano rmx).mp3

DubFire

Now here's a producer who i really rate tops in the minimal genre. Seeing Dubfire live at UrbanWave was probably one of the best nights out of 2008. Dirty gutter minimal was what he brought all night. Well if you didn't get to see him, thats too bad, but atleast you can listen to this and imagine how cool it would have been. Its the kind of rolling minimal with freaky vocals you'd expect to hear at truth

Mister, this is a HIJACK!

Holy Moses, its long weekend time again. April must be one of the most unproductive months ever. Anyway, one of my top rated producer team HIJACK has made this week unbearable as I've been imagining breaking tiles. Well this solid jackin banger is sure to get you moving. Wow he interchanges the background sounds so well, it keeps it interesting. peace!

Love you Madly

Well the UK has proven itself to be chock-a-block full of talent with the likes of Switch, Duke Dumont, Foamo, Stupid Fresh. It therefore came as no surprise to discover this jazzy banger by none other than Herve! Its on another tip, this guy is always is always redefining his style and believe me this wont disappoint. For this project though he uses the Young Lovers alias.

The Young Lovers - Love You Madly

Disfunktional

First up, a thousand apologies for the fidget/electro overload today, I'm just still searching for newer unheard off stuff. In the time being I'm hoping you enjoyed the last Dada Life Track i had on here, because I've got more! This time its more of a rolling bumping beat with squeaking all the way through. Its quite a versatile track i think, very progressive but also electro-house sounding. listen for yourself

Dada Life - Rubber Band Boogie

The Incredible

Well word is our very own Kyle Watson is in the UK now and doing major things on that side of the world. We might not be able to see him every weekend at some club anymore but we do have his best work right here on JohnnyFidget. Its hard to believe the chaps so young cause the music he makes is huge! check this one out

Kyle Watson - Doubting You (Original)

I shpeak Bulgarian

A few months back i was lucky to see the Bulgarian play, man o man was it sick! I jammed till my legs gave in. Anyway its the main reason I've been on the lookout for any of his work, cause well, he's the sh*t. Here's perfect evidence, this tune is grungy, fidget with an excellent sample from Damian Marley - Jamrock. Perfect little banger for all the party-goers tonight. peace out cub scouts. Oh and another reason to get this, Its a Will Bailey Original, what more do you want

Will Bailey - The Dutty Clem _The Bulgarian_Remix

Poke Her Face

If you've recently been to 'club' Manhattan in Rivonia on a thursday night you would have most definitely heard this song by Lady GaGa, perharps thats the reason i got over it so quickly. However its in my top ten once again, only because there's a remix with the biggest names around, mainly: Common, Kanye West and newcomer Kid Cudi. Its a very chilled out mellow remix, boycott music overkill! ha ha

Lady Gaga feat Kanye, Common, Kid Cudi - I Poke Her Face

StupidFresh

There enough StupidFresh remixes and originals out there for you to be familiar with their work. However if you've never heard any of the fidget/electro distortion duo, you're in luck cause this new remix is a slight departure from what was becoming a monotonous sounding bunch of tracks this particular banger will capture you with its sharp combination of electro beats. Enjoy

No.1

Right now the number one prodcuer in the world (in my opinion) is Brabe. I just visited his myspace page, where he has five new tracks up and i was blown away. He's the shining beacon of Fidget right now. All his tracks are sick. Well this remix is deep house fidget (if that even makes sense). Its pretty sick.

Soul Brother

Before i go, here's a track i felt you all had to have tonight. Its a deep house original that's been given a jackin edge, and at the moment I'm struggling to stop listening to it. This is what house is all about. Its by a chap called Christian Malloni, mad decent is an understatement

Britney vs Crookers

If you seek Amy, has caused a lot of controversy lately because well (just say it slow and you'll realise why). Well it seems Italian fidget biggies Crookers decided to ride the wave and give it the remix treatment, its not mind-blowingly good, but it ain't bad either.

Britney Spears - If You Seek Amy (Crookers Toy Soldier Remix)

Local Boy Gone Big

Well here's something that'll make you proud to be South African. Three years ago, the song township funk by Mujava, was featured on DJ Fresh's Definition of house. Now its getting major air-play abroad and has been remixed by some big names including Phra (one half of Crookers). The remixes have kept that amazing beat while adding some techno versatility to the track. Sick!

Jackin!!!!!

This is long overdue, this feature is for all those jackin house heads. I first got introduced to this sub-genre of house by the masters Pimp Squad @ super club Truth. Its house music with tons of soul that you still wanna break some tiles to. Here's a few tracks. I'm going to consult my resident jackin expert for more.

Now i got you dancing..

Wow, its been some moons since I've been so crazy mad over a fidget banger. Jack Beats is on form right now with this remix of Lady Sovereigns - I got you dancing. Its bouncy, jacking style fidget that's guaranteed to get any dance floor pumping. Mad!

The Zulu Dancer

Late last year i began to truly appreciate Minimal, and there's been no looking back. Theres something about the fact that you dont have to jump around to feel moved by minimal. This little number is a rolling ode to everything minimal, with drums and xylophones building up the tempo, its hard not to get involved. Keep an eye out for Richard Dinsdale

Dancing to the disco beat

I'm hoping i dont get you unproductive after hearing this golden wonder. Its like eating butter popcorn then just wanting to fall asleep. Proper Disco, old school, without all the unnecessary extra's, watch out for Crazy P.

O Superman!

Here's another oldie, i just rediscovered and to my shock, i just found out that it was a remix by the talented M.A.N.D.Y. I guess that's why i fell in love with it, ha ha. I originally got it from the Eezy E and Clibo mixtapes that used to make the rounds back in the day. Its the most impressive use of instruments ever, practiced with so much restraint its intense. Go mad and turn up the bass

Lady In The Red Dress

All my really old mates will know this particular strand of genius. Originally made by Phonique (Legend) it was later remixed by another legend, Tiefschwarz. The result is a hollow sounding banger that just doesn't disappoint, the scratches are even on form. Breathe this one in

Foreign Exchange

This American Hip Hop Duo, have managed to get me feeling like i never want to stop listening to hip hop, ever! Its got no mad ryhmes but you just need to allow this song to move you to a simpler place. Now this is music, thank you Foreign Exchange

1901

If you havent heard of Phoenix, i think you're actually trying to avoid this super-group. I've posted their material on the blog before and i continue to love their work. Here's the first single from their new album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix (sick name hey?). The guitar is amazing! Saw them perform this song live on Saturday Night Live and they rocked my socks

Crookers

Before you get all excited, this is not new material from the Italian giants. Rather its a track that i really love thats been given the bootleg treatment. Its been mashed up (very well) with N.E.R.D's everyone knows. I'm not the biggest fan of their new work but i'm still jamming, hits like Knobbers and Atomic Baile Boy. Enjoy the Croooookers

AudioDamage!

Kid Massive has really hit it out of the park with this remix, you just have to excuse the slightly corny intro, believe me he makes up for it, with the kick. Its Chunky Funk at its best, with all the glitchy elements of a fidget track, its hard to stop listening to it. Do yourself a favour and get this

Dahlback!

Wow, i'm quite stoked to be posting this. Now here's a legend, no scratch that, master of the game, John Dahlback. He's been around for a while and yet is still maintaining his top standards, with his seamless producing. The track JulyFirst, is a haunting tune that'll probably encourage some introspection. Its on another level, listen to it and i promise, you will be hooked, its intense, go buy the album!

Bonus:

Paper Planes

This track from superstar M.I.A, is undoubtedly one of the biggest tracks of 2008. Well now its got the remix treatment from producers i have tons of respect for, Cates& dpL, they have a techy minimal style, however they turn this hit into a soothing deep upbeat melody. Check it out

Attention

First up, i trust you all had a smashing easter weekend. Now, here's how its gonna be for a while, because of the lack of really good commercial/main stream music at the moment, i'll be posting some not so commercial quality music. Its a great opportunity for you all to be introduced to new artistes, i appreciate all the positive feedback i got from the rugbyfest go-ers this weekend. Keep Dancin...

Fractals

Its Legend half hour here at JohnnyFidget, John Tejada, has whipped up some techno-space-age toonage for you guys this long weekend. Its more catching stars, but very neatly done. Its a track you gotta experience. Happy Easter

01 John Tejada - Fractals.mp3

Justin Martin

Now here's a producer i have the utmost respect for, I'm a groupie of note. Lately all he's done has been legendary, he's had time to perfect his craft of course. These tracks display a more techy side to this half man-half legend, Justin Martin, Frisbee is dirty Sunday tech, while Please call me is that deep smoothness you need to round off a weekend. Pretty sweet i think.

The Whitest Boy Alive

I've decided that too many bangers aren't great for your health, so just to balance the long weekend off, here's some feel good indie from the Whitest Boy Alive. This band knows how to create the most chilled soulful relaxing rhythms ever. The vocals are top notch too, download quick, I've got a feeling google will wanna take this down. Thanks Lwazi for the heads up on this one

02-intentions1.mp3

House Music

A while back i posted an Aniki remix, that had truely impressed me, well i've been looking out for any other stuff of his, and well my patience has been rewarded, with this solid gold of a track, with some mad funny vocals leading into the sickest intro i've heard in a while, then finally leaving you to the mercy of the beat. Insane! Its a bit like bmore but with more energy and spunk.

SuperSize

Any of you who've heard of Duke Dumont know to expect only solid tracks, but this has taken it to another level. This remix of Lily Allen's the fear is so out there, rolling bassline, glitchy sounds, hypnotising vocals, makes this an original banger. Its not one to jump around too, but still solid! massiv!

Mr Roboto

I actually cant describe this tune, its its, well its good. I'll try conjure up an image rather. Imagine a club full of robot's, jamming away, when all of a sudden, two robots start battling each other in an epic dance-off. Well thats the best i could come up with, get it and enjoy it, cause this is fidget. Nic Sarno will rock your socks

Nic Sarno - The Sample Truth.mp3

Flaming Fudge Pits

OH MY SOUL, here's an apocalyptic banger by none other than Majik Johnson, man its sick. Its techy electro, with this glitchy feel that just gets you moving, its break-beat feel got me hooked immediately. What else did you expect from this legend?

Magik Johnson - Stick Em.mp3

Deadmau5

For the longest time i've been saying this producer/dj's name wrong, apparently its supposed to be Deadmau(s) instead of Deadmau (five). Anyway now thats sorted, heres a track that blew me away, because its not the usual long and monotonous sound, but instead some techy filthy beats. I can already see this being played at the outside floor at Truth, its mad sick..
